Longest Confirmed Sniper Kill
Craig Harrison
Craig Harrison, born on November 1974, is a former British Army sniper who gained international recognition for holding the record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in history. He served in the British Armed Forces for 20 years, with the majority of his career spent as a sniper in the Household Cavalry. Harrison joined the army at the age of 16 and initially served in the Grenadier Guards before transferring to the Household Cavalry. He underwent extensive training in marksmanship and sniper techniques, becoming one of the most skilled snipers in the British military. On November 2009, during his deployment to Afghanistan as part of a reconnaissance platoon, Harrison achieved his record-breaking shot. From a distance of 2,475 meters (8,120 feet), he killed two Taliban insurgents with consecutive shots using an Accuracy International L115A3 long-range rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. This feat surpassed the previous record of 2,430 meters held by Canadian sniper Rob Furlong.
